Travel Tuesday – Vienna

Travel Tuesday – Vienna

I think every horse person wants to go to Vienna.  I’ve been fortunate to get to go twice.  My first trip was with school, and I skipped out on a scheduled activity to have an afternoon to myself at the Spanish Riding School museum.  The second time I went with Tim, and was able to see the morning exercises. Unfortunately, we couldn’t book a stable tour like I had hoped… so that just means I need to go to Vienna…

Another Year with my Horse Husband

Another Year with my Horse Husband

Today I celebrate another year spent with my ‘horse husband’.  It’s four years of marriage for us (and almost 9 total) and we’ll celebrate our “fruit and flowers” anniversary this year. My husband is turning into a pro at funny anniversary gifts.  For the 2nd “Cotton” anniversary he got me a cotton t-shirt that said “It’s my 2nd anniversary and all I got was this t-shirt”, a cotton candy maker and a cotton saddle pad.  This year for “fruit and…

Travel Tuesday – Budapest

Travel Tuesday – Budapest

When I watched The Grand Budapest Hotel, I was hoping it would be about Budapest since that’s one of my favorite European cities.  Alas, I was disappointed in the subject matter – so this blog post will have to suffice as my stroll back into travel nostalgia. Fun fact, did you know Budapest is actually two different cities separated by a river?  It’s really Buda and Pest. Tim and I went together in 2008 right after Christmas as part of an…

Travel Tuesday – Braunfels

Travel Tuesday – Braunfels

The first stop of our 2008 winter European tour was a bit unusual.  Tim and I flew into Frankfurt, which is a huge European hub of travel.  That’s not important in itself, but we were fortunate enough to have a German friend of ours pick us up at the airport and drive us to his hometown – Braunfels, Germany. Braunfels is a small town of about 11,000 people that’s located northwest of Frankfurt.  Honestly, I was so damn jetlagged I…

I Interrupt This Monday

I Interrupt This Monday

I interrupt your regularly scheduled Monday so I can bitch about a hipster who I think may be currently plotting my demise.  But first, let’s back up a little. Originally this weekend I had fun horsey plans scheduled, but I had to cancel.  To make myself feel better about originally cancelled plans, I made different fun horsey plans which… as you guessed, were cancelled.  Therefore much of my weekend was spent with me trying my best to stick to my diet…

Travel Tuesday – New York City

Travel Tuesday – New York City

Once upon a time I used to travel a lot and lug my giant camera everywhere.  Now I am poor with a travel money eating pony.  Ah, the choices we make. Soon I will travel again, but lately I’ve just been missing it.  Combine that with the fact that I don’t often take a look back at the millions of photos I take, and I present to you “Travel Tuesday”. I didn’t actually get to NYC until my early 20’s….

Equestrians at Sea

Equestrians at Sea

I spent the past three days doing some of this. A lot of this. And overall relaxing and hanging out with my family. It was a good, very needed break.  Also, my brain is on vacation mode a little bit still, which would explain the overall lack of content for this post.  I sat down on the couch when I got home last night to write blog material, but instead it pretty much came out more like “blog good horse…

My Job at the Cult – The Departure

My Job at the Cult – The Departure

You’re probably going to be shocked, but I was job hunting for the last 3 months of my 6 month stint at my job at the cult.  I took any interview I could get (including some really awful positions) to try and get out of there, and finally something worked out.  It wasn’t even a good position, but it was most likely not in a cult.  At the time, that was enough for me. Before I had another job offer, I…
