Horse Show Ribbon Recycling
On Monday, I wrote about equestrian design in the home which featured my current way of showcasing ribbons – throwing them in glass vases. Several of you asked for different ways to display horse show ribbons, and I remembered a Pinterest board that L. Williams (who is just as satin obsessed as me… maybe more so) showed me a while back. This lead to me combing through about 100 other Pinterest boards and then compiling this list… enjoy!
Make a Ribbon Wreath
Make a Ribbon Pillow
Stuff Your Ribbons In Something Made of Glass
Make a Purse or Tote Bag
Make a Shadow Box
Decorate a Picture Frame
Get a Stuffed Animal Made
Cover Your Trunk With Them
Make a Ribbon Belt
Create a Ribbon Chandelier
Make Ribbon Flowers
Ribbon Flip Flops
Ribbon Ornaments
Ribbon Photo Album Covers
The Tried and True Ribbon Quilt
And now… I just need to win more ribbons. Phew! That is a lot of satin. If you are looking for someone to make such fanciful creations out of your ribbons for you, check out the vendors below.

LOVE all these ideas! We had boxes full of ribbons and sadly threw hundreds of them out only saving really special ones. Never knew about the ingenious ways people come up to use them.
Ribbon flip flops make me giggle. 🙂
Love the tack trunk cover idea though. Great if you have a trunk at home.
Lots of great ideas! I really like the mini purse/wallet idea, making a ribbon belt, and wrapping them around the pictures frames. People are really creative.
I have literally almost every ribbon I’ve ever won (like 25+ years worth) and I want a ribbon quilt SO bad. I’m no crafty, but I’ll get one made one day 🙂
This is amazing!!!
Lots of great ideas there! Pinterest rocks! I like the shadow boxes and the stuffed animals (pony especially!).
I do wonder if the newer ribbons would hold up to being sewn together though…the ones I just won yesterday (weeee!) are sort of plastic-y and cheap. They look satiny but aren’t as nice.
Love pinterest 🙂
Lots of great ideas, but the best ones are HARD. Wah … I want someone to do one for me for FREE. I paid a lot of money for those ribbons; I don’t want to pay for them AGIAN. :0)
Whoa – so many options (involving SO MANY ribbons). I love the little change purses/clutches. Ah the beauty of pinterest.
So many good ideas!!
Wow, those are amazing creations!
Makes me want to get out there and compete to try and win stuffs to makes pretty things!
This is awesome, not just for horse people. I do Agility with my dogs and I have box’s full of ribbons. Nice winter project for me.
What great ideas – I have so many ribbons from showing in the AKC conformation ring that I had finally stopped accepting them. Looks like I can start collecting them again 😀
I can’t find any place to order the stuffed animals, mainly the horses. Where did these pictures come from? Even a link to a pattern would be good. Thanks! Love the site
Did you ever get a response Robbie? I would really be intersection in the stuffed horses as well.
I know this is kind of a long shot…but does anyone have a pattern for making the ribbon pillows?
I love the criss-cross pattern
