Photography Friday – Japanese Gardens

Photography Friday – Japanese Gardens

It’s been a pretty whirlwind week over here in SMTT land. Between getting my house ready to put on the market for lease, writing some posts for Jumper Nation, riding nerd horse, looking for apartments in California and smattering in some social activities between all of that… my blogging power is fairly zapped at the moment.

Because I need a bit of a zen break, I’m going to share some photos from my Japan trip today. These were all taken in or near Kyoto, which has as many beautiful gardens as they do temples.

Typically I’m not much of a garden person when I’m on vacation. Plants don’t really do it for me… but Japan is in a league of its own in this area.

Every single angle looks just perfect. You could sit in the middle of the garden, slowly spin around and never find a view that’s less than perfect. It’s masterful.

I’d like to say that this weekend I’ll be able to find my own peaceful recharge, but in actuality I’m having a giant garage/moving sale on Saturday morning to try and offload some excess items and hopefully will have a lot of showings for the house this weekend.

It’s a lot to organize between now and my big move to CA, but for the moment I’m going to take a deep breath and pretend I’m back in Japan.
