Three Years of Nerd Horse

Three Years of Nerd Horse

I still have so much to sift through right now, and I’m overwhelmed. I am dangling some carrots for me to get me through this rough time, but I won’t be ready to blog about my ideas until I know where my feet are more. However, there is a bright spot that still shines and that is my Simon.

Each year I like to compare two similar photos from the previous years. You can see year one and year two if you’re curious.

It’s probably going to be a while before I get new pictures or new fun show adventures, but they will come again. I’ve got some really shitty months ahead to get through followed by a much longer period of mourning and adjusting, but I’ll ride as much as I can in the meantime. In the future I’ll be diving head first into the horse world, because it’s probably going to go a long way getting me through this.

Bring on the fourth year of nerd horse.

  1. The horse world will be ready and waiting when you’re ready to dive back in!
Amazing the difference a year makes isn’t it? Look at how much better Simon is jumping! And you’re so much more relaxed too.

  2. I think the best thing about the horse world is that it is always there waiting when life dictates a step back. No matter what, the basics stay the same: sit up, look to where your going and more leg. 😉

  3. I’m so glad you have Simon!

If you want to make a trip out east to get away from stuff, I’ve got a spare room and easy access to lots of fun horse-country goings-on!

  4. A Horseaversary is always worth celebrating! He’s looking like quite the hunk of horse now! And I’ll echo what everyone else has said so far: the horse world will be here waiting for you, but no rush…

  5. Great photos of a handsome boy! I believe in the second standing photo, Simon is wearing a more dignified expression. Not that he looks unsophisticated in the first one, but he just really has a confidence and regal quality in the second one. I hope you have a wonderful series of rides this holiday weekend! 🙂

  6. OMG THAT NECK. How does he have so much muscle!?! Gorgeous… And yeah, that’s what I did when B left… I was going to the barn almost every day, because I didn’t want to be sitting around the house alone. And them my stupid horse dumped me and hurt my hip, so now I’ve been sitting alone a lot, and getting depressed. Diving into it really does help you get through. Lots of love <3

  7. he’s looking so good right now!! congrats on the horsiversary and i’m glad to hear that Simon is still a bright spot in your life right now!

  8. Long tme reader, but have never posted. I just wanted to say hang in there. I cannot help but admire your eloquence and composure even while you are going through these tough times.
ps… Simon looks fabulous in his 2015 pics!
