Two Years of Nerd Horse

Two Years of Nerd Horse

Last year, I did a post showing how Simon evolved in the first year I owned him.  Since this July marks two years since I’ve had the creature, I figured I’d do another before and after type post.

Again, we’ve had our ups and downs but I feel more strongly than ever that this horse is the perfect match for me right now.  I just hope he stays sound and we can enjoy many more years together.

We may be struggling with some of the sames issues as last year, like soundness and lead changes, but when I look back at these pictures I can’t help but feel very proud.

  1. Aw! He is such a cute, and always seems so happy to be at work. I love the May 2014 riding photos, and the April 2014 jumping photo. Super hunter form in that one! 🙂

  2. You know what I love most about those pics?

    You.

The jumping pics from last year are nice. You both look relaxed and happy to be out there. There’s nothing at all wrong with them.

But this year… this year you are OWNING those jumps. You’re ATTACKING them. You look like you’re on a mission, you’re tight with Simon, and he’s right there with you.

    You’re a team. 🙂

  3. I love how the pictures show you two developing more confidence and trust in each other. You guys look great!

  4. You have come so far together! My instructor is fond of pointing out that the warm ups at rolex are pretty much the same lessons we have at home, just over bigger fences. 😉 We all keep working on the same things once we pass a certain level of proficiency.

  5. You should be extremely proud! You’ve both come very far since last year, and gosh, Simon is just looking fantastic. Not that he didn’t look great last year, but man. He looks a grown-up sporthorse now 😀
