Horse Show Hangover Media Dump

One of the great things about having a barn family versus somewhere to just take lessons is that nobody questions why you would choose to spend your entire weekend at a horse show where you are not showing. Instead they say things like, “We’re ordering pizza for the classic. Can you bring ice for the beer?”

Why yes, I can bring ice. I can also drink 3 ciders in an hour after not eating much and being super dehydrated. I can also giggle through the entire jumper classic and try to get a contract trading Roman for auto changes on Simon with a local trainer. Nothing was signed though, so I think Mr. Romanov is safe for now. 😉

Since Roman and I are still working on trotting walking over crossrails, we’re not exactly ready to hit up my favorite shows yet. When I saw Simon was on the board for the San Antonio show (my favorite) this past weekend and my friend offered her hotel room for me and my dogs, I couldn’t say no.

I’m not sure if a horse show is more or less fun without a horse there to show, but I do know it’s more fun than staying home and not doing much all weekend. With that, I’m going to dump my favorite photos here. As always, no comments on any riders especially since I already established these lovely ladies are family.

You can head over to The Graduated Equestrian if you want a more detailed report from someone who actually rode this weekend. Over here, it’s just pictures today! And just in case you were wondering, Simon was fantastic this weekend. 😀

  1. Aww <3 Simon ! And also going to shows just to spectate and support friends. One day I will be showing again myself, but for now just enjoying the atmosphere is enough 😉

  2. Well, it can’t be all that weird that you went to a show you weren’t in, because the rest of us are enjoying pictures from a show where we don’t even know the riders! P.S. I want that puppy.

(I found your blog while googling “equine photography tips” and it’s been very helpful, just FYI.)
