A Tour of Grand Prix Village

A Tour of Grand Prix Village

Some girls dream about Cinderella’s castle, but I dreamed of ponies and a beautiful barn to keep them in. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was dreaming of Grand Prix Village in Wellington, Florida. This large loop right next to the horse show grounds holds the prettiest hunter/jumper barns I’ve ever seen. Imagine a neighborhood in the burbs, but instead of houses they’re horse farms. Not wide and expansive like in Kentucky, but condensed and beautiful. Each…

Negative Nancy

Negative Nancy

That’s the best way I can describe me this past week and weekend. It’s a good thing I still have lots of photos and posts about Wellington to blog about, because otherwise I would drive all you great readers away with my negativity. Pre-Simon being very lame (still) lots of crappy stuff happened at work which I won’t get into, and then when I saw that my dear horse who has been on stall rest for three months was still…

WEF $500k Grand Prix

WEF $500k Grand Prix

In those venues, there’s a lot of emphasis on higher priced goods being the best possible thing you can buy for the show ring. A lot of times that’s true, but I noticed a lot of trends at WEF that showed me that sometimes simple is better. Navy Braids I’ve…

Before I get to our pretty little ponies – the results to the giveaway!  For everyone that entered, I gave them a number and then randomized them using randomizer.org and the winner is… Hillary from Equestrian at Hart!  I’ll catch up with you to speak design, but for now… on to ponies! I have a problem with miniature things. I love anything that is smaller than its full size counter part. This includes but is not limited to…

Welly World!

Welly World!

I’m back from Wellington, stomping grounds of the rich and famous pony people, and had a fabulous time. It’s really like submerging yourself in another world where the rules of my former reality do not exist. Some of that is thrilling (getting lunch right next to Reed Kessler and seeing George Morris at the grocery store!) and some of that is kind of stressful and exhausting (feeling like the lowly TX pudgy amateur local shower among the world’s elite equestrians)….
