WEF – Jumper Jacket Fashion

WEF – Jumper Jacket Fashion

As a hunter girl, I have few coat options.  I know if I want to be fashionable I show up with a navy coat and a white shirt.  Feeling old school?  Wear chocolate or charcoal.  Daring and trendy?  Hunter green.

I don’t know much about the amazing coat fashion coming out of Europe.  I don’t get to play with those coats, but my jumper friends do.  What do I know about jumper coats?  They are pretty, and I take pictures of them!

Here’s some fashion do’s (and don’ts perhaps) that I saw at WEF which stood out to me.

The pink piping is really cute on a children’s jacket like this!

Not every coat is modern and flashy. Black traditional still looks sharp.

Which jumper jacket is your favorite?

  1. One of my FAVORITE things. There’s so much Animo scattered about in your pictures. God I love Animo. You would like their hunter-appropriate jackets with dark buttons and a pretty lining, like the Lootha. It comes in an awesome “marine” color that is sorta french blue.

  2. I may be Western, but I’ve loved seeing the WEF styles and etc. 🙂 And man, that Bay’s blue eye! Ooohhh-la-la, I want!

Because I love being matchy-matchy with my pony, I love the light blue and navy green. I love color and I think the colors that they chose worked really well with the horse.

  3. Weird, we were just talking about jacket at the farm yesterday. I’m in desperate need of updating my wardrobe, just my jacket and show shirts really, and we were talking about all the coats and colors. I’m probably going to be getting a black coat, just so it doesn’t clash with Libbys dark coloring. But I really want a washable, lightweight coat. I’ve been told the Grand Prix Techlite coats are being discontinued soon, so I’m going to try and grab one when they all are liquidated.

  4. I just picked up a blue tone on tone plaid/stripe jacket … on sale! I hope it looks nice. It’s a little fancy for the eventer arena, but at this level, nobody cares as long as it’s not crazy. 🙂 I will post pictures when I get it!

  5. The pink with those American flag breeches is dreadful. My god, did she hold those up together in a mirror before she left the house? (Obviously not.)

I am a big fat traditionalist when it comes to the dressage and jumper rings. (And I’m pretty conservative on XC these days. Tie-dye polo shirt was soooo 2001.) I really like the look of that sleek, black jacket as well as the silver-buttoned one. The hunter green looks nice, too.

  6. Definitely a traditionalist here! I thought I would like silver buttons, but the more I look at them, the more I dislike them. I have a simple black three-buttoned coat (like the one above) that I absolutely love and wouldn’t change for the world. Classic and clean.

That being said, I actually like the pink coat/american flag breeches. It’s very flashy but looks good on her haha.

  7. Bring on the COLOR for me! I’m a hunter princess, but I have serious jumper coat envy. (Working at a tack shop only makes it worse.) Navy coat with pink piping and lining…so not appropriate but sooo what I want!
