Shop for Texas

I’ve been trying to write about my super mild experiences with Hurricane Harvey, but everything I have to say sounds insignificant or crass when I think about the damage on the Texas coast and the flooding in Houston.

It’s hard to tell y’all about my new crush on our local weatherman hottie when people are losing everything, so I won’t. Although for real though, call me David… I’m here for two more days!

My social media feed has been filled with fundraisers for Texas, and I wanted to compile these offers into one place. If you feel helpless like me about the devastation in Houston and other areas of my state, maybe you’ll enjoy doing a little retail therapy for a good cause.

Magnolia Market – Texas – we will always have your back.

From now until the end of September, 100% of the proceeds from our “Texas Forever” shirts will go toward restoring homes and lives in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. This undertaking is not too big for us if we are all in.

Let’s help restore these towns together.

Southern Honey Boutique – Answering a few questions about our fundraiser tees:

1. Tomorrow (Wednesday 8/30/2017) at 12 noon will be the last day we offer these tees for now.

2. There are time limits on your invoices. If you don’t pay within 3 hrs, it cancels them. (Which is why your invoice will show up blank). But no worries, you can still order here on our website:

3. All fundraising sales are FINAL.

4. We’ve received an overwhelmingly wonderful amount of orders, so once you place your order, you cannot change color and/or size. We just don’t have the manpower to continue to make changes once ordered.

5. This is NOT a scam and it’s really sad anyone would even suggest that. Can’t. Even. Deal. With. Those. People.

6. Thank you so much for your graciously generous hearts! We are so excited to help women who desperately need it right now!

Willie T’s – Join us in helping Texas Flood victims get the resources they need! For every item bought, $7 will go towards Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts!
#texasstrong #hurricaneharvey #gotowillies

With every share of this post, you are entered into a drawing for a Willie’s T’s TX tee! Let’s join together to raise support for our Texas Family!

Fleurty Girl – We haven’t forgotten that Houston helped New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Now it’s our turn to help them. 100% of the proceeds from the HOU DAT tee will be donated to Feeding Texas, an organization that serves food banks throughout the affected areas.

Vineyard Vines – Our hearts go out to those in Texas affected by#HurricaneHarvey. We want to do our part to help–so we’re donating ALL profits from our Texas Flag Tee to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

These Texas stud earrings are handmade from beautiful solid walnut wood. These fun, wood studs are versatile and will compliment any style. Walnut is a high quality, hardwood with a varied grain pattern.

James Avery – We’ve called Texas home for more than 60 years. When our family, friends and neighbors hurt, we hurt with them. That’s why we’re sending support, love and prayers at this crucial time.

  1. I said to my hubby yesterday that we needed to find someplace to make a donation, so this is perfect! Thanks!

  2. Thank you! I’m in Houston, have it way better than most. But I can’t even express the devastation. Pictures can only show so much, but to know and go to these places, to see friends struggling, horses trapped. It is gutting. Then to scroll through the feed of FB and IG and see people not effected or oblivious. It is incredible. So much loss.

  3. Thanks for posting all of these!
If you’re looking for any animal-related causes, the AAEP Foundation Disaster Relief Fund is accepting donations that will help veterinary members and other members of the equine community, and the AVMA Foundation will provide grants to vets who provide emergency services and boarding to affected animals. Both of their websites have additional information.

  4. Thank you for the links, this makes it super easy to donate! The images of the devastation are mind-blowing, I cannot even imagine trying to get through that.

  5. Thank you for grouping all of these together!! Also snagged a Southern Honey shirt!! Do you mind if I share this post?

  6. Bought the Sweet Home Texas shirt, since I grew up in Texas first in San Antonio and then later in Corpus Christi. 🙁

Also, Texas Pets Alive! is another group stepping in to help move shelter dogs and cats out of harms way and to open up cages for dogs and cats displaced by the hurricane.

  7. We need to also remember to continue our support of Texas and other states by shopping locally with American made companies. For example, talks about restoring Missouri after this springs 1000 year flood. This article is just on Texas company, bit I support the American economy by trying to buy made in the USA! There is alot made in Texas!
