It’s been sort of a long drudge from one of the big low points I was experiencing last November, but I can finally say that I’m really feeling better these days.

I can’t pin point exact reasons to why I’m feeling better. There are still a lot of stresses and unknowns, but I’m not crumbling to them as easily. My guess is that the improvement in mental health is a combination of a lot of small changes. I’m paying better attention to my physical self by eating better, going to the gym and shoving Vitamin D down my throat every day. Additionally, I’m also riding consistently again and we all know that horses (even big chestnut ones) are good for the soul.

My blog mojo comes in waves. Sometimes I have tons of photos and stories to tell, and want nothing more than to share my life with y’all. Other times I’ve got my head wrapped around a chapter of the book, and can’t muster up much for the actual blog. I don’t beat myself up about that anymore, but it does make for inconsistent content.

Honestly there are a lot of things I wish I could share right now, but I have to remain quiet until I know more about the future. For now though, I’m doing okay. Most days I’m actually better than okay.

What I can share is that I decided to take Simon to my favorite show in San Antonio next weekend. Is horse show the right financial choice right now? Absolutely not. Will it make me happy and provide a weekend of fun in an uncertain time? Oh yes, yes it will. So I’m doing a little #yolo and taking nerd horse out for an outing. It’s been too long for us, and I can’t wait to get back in the show ring with my best buddy.

We’ll be hitting up the little jumpers, and my goal is to not get turned off my horse or go off course. Because you know, it’s all about the little wins.

  1. So happy for you and your pending adventures in show land! And though I am not a big fan of ear bonnets, I’ve gotta say I love that brown one!

  2. Yay! I’m sure you and Simon will do great at the show and accomplish those goals!

I feel you on the blog mojo. Mine comes and goes too. It usually depends on how busy my life is, and how creative I have to be professionally. I can’t seem to maintain my blog when I have to be creative 24/7 at work. But now that I’m sort of funemployed, I feel like blogging again.
