How I introduced my husband to his favorite band

How I introduced my husband to his favorite band

Contrary to what I’ve been writing about lately, it’s not all about horses over here.  Tonight Tim and I went downtown to our favorite dive bar for dinner, and then to a show to see his favorite band – Lucero. Now Lucero is something I’m proud of, because I was the one who introduced Tim to this Memphis, TN alt country band.  I have many great talents and qualities, but being an “in” person in the music scene is not…

Back into the world of boarding

Back into the world of boarding

I rode the spoon in the dark and scary round pit of death tonight. Yes, I’m being slightly dramatic but I’ve decided to dub it the D&SRPoD for the following reasons: At night, it’s really dark (see yesterday’s video, but the video camera picks up much less light than your eyes do so…)  One of the reasons I chose my current barn is because they have lights for night riding, and the round pen is well lit except for one…

I hate sovereign bank, but I love my horse.

I hate sovereign bank, but I love my horse.

I hate Sovereign Bank.  Hate hate hate hate hate hate hate.  It’s a long story why I hate them, and I’m too fuming with hatred to actually go into it.  So I’m just going to put keywords on my blog so that they might show up on google.  It’s a passive attack sure, but it’s going to make me feel better. Sovereign bank has horrible customer service. My Boston Terrier is not smart, but even she knows not to bank…

I’m back and unmotivated

I’m back and unmotivated

I’m married.  It was awesome.  I’m back now.  I’ve been back actually, just un-motivated and occupied by getting back to normal life and playing with my new pony.  So no long blog tonight, just some pictures of my critters and some horses at the farm.

His name is Teaspoon, and he is going to be my pony.

His name is Teaspoon, and he is going to be my pony.

He’s just a wittle Teaspoon.  He’s available for lease.  I think he’s adorable, and even though he needs a lot of work to get into any kind of show ring – I luff him and he’s going to be mine.  I’m going to start leasing him in November, and try to move him to a boarding facility closer to where I live. He’s got a dog-like personality.  Loves to be groomed, loves attention, etc.  I wouldn’t say any horse is…

Adorable English Springer Spaniel Gifts on Etsy

Adorable English Springer Spaniel Gifts on Etsy

So I love dogs, that’s pretty obvious.  What may or may not be obvious to you, is my small shrine of English Springer spaniel stuff.  Everywhere I go, if I see a dog store I pop in and look for cool Springer stuff.  Obsessive?  Yes a bit maybe. Another great place to look for unique gifts for the dog lover your life is online, and for that I like Etsy.  Stuff is hand made on there by different artists, and…

How to make an Equestrian Ribbon Quilt

How to make an Equestrian Ribbon Quilt

I’ve wanted one of these for a long time. I mean, you don’t even need to be a horse person to think that the quilt/wall hanging to the right is really, really pretty – not to mention creative!  If you haven’t seen or heard of one of these, it’s a quilt made entirely out of horse show satin ribbons.  I’ve done different kinds of horse showing all my life, and have secretly been lusting after one of these.  However, there…

My six year old self is squealing with delight

My six year old self is squealing with delight

OH MY GOD. Do you think it’s too late to get them to come to the wedding? Package #2 one pony for one hour plus paint the pony game $125.00 I don’t even think I can begin to describe to you what I would have done for this as a small child.  For whatever reason, I never had a pony birthday party.  Don’t get me wrong, my childhood was not scarred by horrible birthdays… but the pony ride thing never happened. …
